Tulip (roeutena)

Who doesn't know that Netherland is famous for its tulips, as well as Japan is famous for its sakura (cherry blossom)?
So, somehow I had the impression that flowers like tulips will never exist in Japan. But guess, right after I came to Japan three years ago I proved myself wrong. :p
You can claim something comes from your country/origin. But is it wrong if it can adapt in different places? Can't I say, "I saw Japanese tulips yesterday!"?
*google for "Burung kakak tua" will inform you that it's a Malaysian folk song. Well, I grew up in Indonesian family and sang it very well before entering kindergarden without even knowing anything about Malaysia…
